What a week at the London International. The Whitakers picked up top placings across the competition. Robert and Vermento flew into 4th place in the Longines World Cup leg. The standout for the week has got to be John and Sharid. The high atmosphere Six Bar Challenge was fiercely battled by top riders, including Sebastian Hughes and Max Kuhner. With a final height of 1.90m, the crowd were on the edge of their seats. The final result? A shared win between John and Sebastian. Well deserved!

John takes his second six bar win of the year!

Following his success on Gentlemen VH Veldhoff in the June show, Robert returned to Hickstead for another week of fierce competition. This time on Vermento, Robert cleared the jump off in a lightning-fast 38.88 to win the Al Shira'aa King George V Gold cup. It's the second time Robert's cinched victory in the class, having previously won in 2023.

During his career Argento has won over 20 Grand Prix’s  including numerous 5* Grand Prix’s such as St.Tropez, Hong Kong, Treffon and many more. At the Longines Masters in Hong Kong 2015 he started three times and had two firsts and a second - that year he also became the Worlds Number One Horse.

John describes Argento as an out and out winner, he always gives 110% , so careful, brave and fast.

It was a fantastic result for John and Unick Du Francport on Saturday night in the Longines Grand Prix at the London leg of the Global Champions Tour.

Beaten by just 0.14 seconds by Sweden's Peder Fredricson, John was last to go in the jump off and crossed the line with the full support of the home crowd behind him.

The team from Great Britain, won the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Challenge Cup on Saturday at Barcelona. John and Unick du Francport were selected for the squad alongside Jack Whitaker, Harry Charles, Emily Moffit and Holly Smith

John and Sharid then finished in joint 1st place on Sunday's Five Fence Challenge. Sharing the honours with Shane Breen and Vistogrand, John and H.H. Prince Torki Bin Mohammed Al Saud.

John and Unick Du Francport also finished in 2nd place in The Grandstand Challenge Cup at HOYS on Saturday.

John and the flashy bay gelding crossed the line just 0.12 seconds behind the class winners Michael Duffy and Jeff Ten Halven.

John and Equine America Unick Du Francport were victorious at the Global Champions League Hamburg at the weekend.

John and Marcus Ehning paired up as part of the Valkesnwaard United Team to take the win with a combined double clear and final time of 141.76 seconds, finishing over 10 seconds ahead of second placed Madrid in Motion, represented by Jack Whitaker and Mark McAuley.

John and Unick du Francport were part of the 3rd placed team in the Longines FEI Nations Cup of Switzerland.

Joined by Harry Charles, Jack Whitaker and Joe Stockdale, Great Britain were the only team to jump two clears in the first round, courtesy of  John and Unick du Francport and Harry Charles riding Casquo Blue. 

These clears were two of only 8 clear rounds in the first round across the 8 nations.

An unfortunate 2 fences from the team in round 2 left the British team on a final score of 12, just under 2.5 time penalties behind The Netherlands who finished in 2nd place, also with a final score of 12.

The competition was won by Switzerland who finished on 8 penalties.

Sharid was on flying form this week, taking a win in the 1.50 Santa Stakes on Sunday night and also a win in the Six Bar on Monday.

John and Sharid were the only pair to go clear in all 5 rounds of the Six Bar, finishing at a height of 1.90M.

The British Team triumphed in the Agria Nations Cup of Great Britain at The Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead today.

8 Teams took on the challenge this afternoon, and John and "Frank" had the crowd on their feet with their incredible double clear, helping to take the win alongside team mates Tim Gredley, Ben Maher and John's son Robert Whitaker.
